A popular Dallas restaurant will soon be stirring ice-cold martinis and shucking oysters in Alamo Heights.

Hudson House, an East Coast-inspired neighborhood restaurant, is making its San Antonio debut at 5307 Broadway, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Dallas concept plans to outfit a space in the former Nix Health sleep clinic, which local real estate firm Ridgemont Properties is redeveloping into a retail and office hub.

Vandelay Hospitality Group, which owns Hudson House and several restaurant brands throughout Texas, plans to complete a $1.7 million renovation on its 6,510-square-foot space by April next year, according to the filing. Details in state filings are preliminary and subject to change without notice.

Hudson House started in Highland Park nearly 10 years ago and has since expanded to 11 locations throughout Dallas, Houston, Addison, Fort Worth, Irving, Frisco and Southlake. The seafood-forward menu features sushi rolls, East Coast oysters, a shrimp cocktail, a lobster roll, as well as a classic cheeseburger, salads and chicken parm for some turf options. To wash it all down, the bar program boasts its signature “World’s Coldest Martini” with Grey Goose vodka served on tap and chilled to 10 degrees.

Vandelay Hospitality Group owns 12 restaurant concepts, including Drake’s Hollywood, an old Hollywood-inspired steakhouse; D.L Mack’s, a Chicago-inspired tavern; and Jack & Harry’s, a New Orleans-inspired restaurant and bar.

Ridgemont Properties is transforming the former sleep clinic, which it purchased in 2020, into a two-story, 35,000-square-foot property with two restaurants on the ground floor and office space up top. In December, Alamo Heights City Council approved a $2 million incentive package for the project. The deal includes a 100% tax rebate for 10 years, requiring a minimum investment of $9 million and an operational restaurant by 2027.
