Trader Joe’s — already eyeing new stores in North Texas — is preparing for yet another.
The popular grocer is planning to add a store in Flower Mound, according to Nakia Rohde, spokesperson for the business, in an emailed statement. There were no other details to share, Rohde added.
The chain is ramping up in North Texas with plans for new stores around the region, helping it compete with brands such as Sprouts Farmers Market, H-E-B and Whole Foods. Trader Joe’s is planning a second store in Plano, a new spot in Frisco and another in Mansfield.
Trader Joe’s has built up fans around Texas and the country with its smaller format stores that feature items that range from organic treats to Asian frozen foods, along with basics in dairy, produce and meat.
“The plans and permit submitted earlier this year for the former Party City location indicate Trader Joe’s is the proposed tenant,” the town of Flower Mound said in a statement earlier this week. “The Town’s Economic Development team has been involved with the property and development team as part of its ongoing efforts to attract retailers to Flower Mound.”
The former Party City was located on Long Prairie Road near Justin Road in Flower Mound, according to Google Maps information.
