Clay Brandenburg’s 25-yard field goal with 3:57 left in the game put Hendrix (1-1) ahead for good as it picked up a road win at Harper Davis Field in Jackson, Miss.
Brandenburg’s kick ended a nine-play, 66-yard drive and snapped a 27-27 tie for the Warriors, who also trailed 20-14 in the second quarter before scoring 22 of the game’s final 29 points.
Jake Blice completed 25 of 35 passes for 387 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead Hendrix. Westin Bruce caught 5 passes for 149 yards and got the Warriors on the board first with a 73-yard scoring reception with 13:39 left in the first quarter. Brooks McGee, Zo Payne and Jayger Rainwater also caught touchdown passes for Hendrix, while Dentravious Woods returned a fumble 22 yards on the final play of the game to close out the victory.
Tamaron Patterson ran 29 times for 173 yards and 1 touchdown to power Millsaps (2-1).
