An Irish power infrastructure firm is planting its North American headquarters in Dallas, bringing a promise to create 1,000 jobs as demand surges for electricity to fuel data centers, artificial intelligence and energy projects.

H&MV Engineering—a Limerick, Ireland-based high-voltage electrical engineering and construction company—established its North American headquarters at 3131 McKinney Ave. in Dallas, according to a Thursday news release. The firm plans to create 1,000 U.S. jobs over the next five years as it expands its presence in North Texas.

“Dallas is the right base for the next stage of our U.S. growth,” Ken Gilmartin, executive vice president for H&MV Engineering in the U.S., said in the release. “It puts us close to customers and major growth markets, with access to a deep pool of engineering and construction talent. We’re building the team and capabilities here to deliver complex power infrastructure at scale across the U.S.”

H&MV works on major power infrastructure projects around the world. Its new Dallas headquarters will support the company’s growing engineering and construction operations across the U.S., particularly in Texas and Louisiana.

The firm designs substations and other connections that deliver large amounts of electricity to utilities, energy projects and data centers—an industry H&MV says is seeing growing demand.

“AI and data center growth is putting huge focus on the need for power infrastructure, but the opportunity is much broader,” P.J. Flanagan, CEO of H&MV Engineering, said. “Across the U.S., investment in the grid, renewables and battery storage is driving demand for new high-voltage infrastructure. That is exactly where H&MV specializes, and why we see the U.S. as a major part of our next phase of growth.”

H&MV has grown quickly, with revenue rising from $70 million in 2020 to more than $1.1 billion today. The company was recently valued at about $1.6 billion after securing new investment to fund its international expansion.

The company has more than 24 gigawatts (GW) of projects in design and construction across the globe, targeting $3.5 billion in annual revenues over the next five years.
