WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Industrial Technologies Office (ITO) today selected nine new projects for its Industrial Technology Validation (ITV) program. ITV improves the global competitiveness of American industry by accelerating the commercialization of affordable, reliable, and secure industrial technologies. These selections will advance President Trump’s agenda to restore American industrial strength.
“A major barrier hindering industrial adoption of many promising technologies is that end users lack reliable and unbiased information about their performance,” said Assistant Secretary of Energy Audrey Robertson. “ITV is the cornerstone program that addresses this barrier head on.”
Every ITV project involves two selectees: a technology developer and an industrial host site. The host site is a working industrial facility that agrees to install and operate an innovative, emerging technology provided by the developer and share data on its performance. ITO works with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to assess this data and evaluate the technology.
By providing trusted, third-party validation of technology performance, ITV helps American industry make more informed investments in technologies that reduce operational costs, optimize performance, and enhance competitiveness.

| CEIA USA, LTD | Donaldson Company, Inc. | Greeneville, TN | A filter manufacturer will replace a conventional electric heater with a faster, more efficient induction heater to reduce energy waste, improve production control, and reduce operating costs. |
| Element 16 Technologies, Inc. | Searles Valley Minerals | Trona, CA | A mining operation will install a thermal energy storage system that uses molten sulfur to store heat. The system will be charged using inexpensive electricity and discharged to generate steam for process heating. |

| Agriwater Corp. | East Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center | Walland, TN | A dairy facility will install a wastewater treatment system that allows treated water to be reused for irrigation. The new system is expected to reduce clogging in irrigation lines, lower water costs, and improve farm productivity. |
| Rhea’s Factory | Niagara Bottling LLC | Vernon, CA | A recycler will test a new technology to turn difficult-to-recycle plastics into high-quality raw materials for food-grade plastic, enabling them to process a wider variety of recycled feedstocks. |
| NLine Energy | RTX, Pratt & Whitney Division | East Hartford, CT | A turbine will be installed to convert wasted steam energy into usable electricity, reducing the cost of purchasing electricity from the grid. |
