Atlético Madrid star Álex Baena has this weekend revealed his take that Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is more deserving of the Ballon d’Or award than any other player.
Youngster Lamine is of course considered one of the very favourites to be named world football’s standout player for the last 12 months at October’s ‘Golden Ball’ ceremony in Paris.

The 19-year-old is fresh off playing a starring role in both Barcelona’s La Liga triumph and that of Spain at the World Cup, dazzling for club and country alike from his berth on the right flank.
Lamine’s latest standout performance came on Saturday night, opening the scoring in a 3-2 Spanish triumph over England at Wembley.
And post-match in London, another of those to have found the net for Luis de la Fuente’s troops on the evening reaffirmed his belief that his young compatriot deserves the Ballon d’Or.
Drawn on the Golden Ball race during an exchange with Diario Sport, Álex Baena assured:
“The winner has to be Lamine. I’d include Rodri, Messi and Fabián (Ruiz), too.”
