Sushi REV, a casual revolving sushi restaurant, looks to be in the plans for Suite 108 at 3201 Louisiana St. in Houston, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). The location recently housed Pok Pok Po—an Indian fast-casual chicken restaurant—until its late-August closure.
The changeover involves a $300,000 remodel. While details submitted to the TDLR are subject to change, construction could kick off in December, lasting through mid-June 2027.
Pok Pok Po closed Aug. 29, but its owners said they were looking for ways to bring it and Bol, a neighboring fast-casual Indian bowl restaurant that also closed, back in the future.
“This isn’t goodbye to Pok Pok Po or Bol. We have a vision for their future and are looking forward to finding the right opportunities to bring them back in ways that make them even more convenient and accessible,” Surpreet Singh, co-founder of Kahani Social Group, said in a statement at the time. “We hope everyone will come see us one more time in Midtown and stay tuned for what’s next.”
Sushi REV describes itself as a modern revolving sushi bar, serving sushi, rolls and Japanese sides. Its motto is “Fresh, Fun, and Always Moving,” according to its website.
The restaurant describes its atmosphere as “laid-back” and family-friendly. It has two California locations, in Rowland Heights and Irvine.
A Texas entity called Sushi Rev Midtown LLC was formed in April 2026, according to a filing with the Texas Secretary of State. Its listed main address is 3930 Broadway Place in Los Angeles—the same address listed for Sushi Rev LLC and California Gogi Group LLC, which filed Sushi REV’s trademark application.
The shared address suggests a connection to the California brand, though the TDLR filing does not identify a tenant or confirm who will operate the Houston restaurant.
