Mayor Ed Fahs: We’ve got a lot of good things happening in Wellsville!

From the Village of Wellsville NY,

The Village of Wellsville is pleased to announce that 15 projects are moving forward through the New York Forward Small Project Fund, bringing further investment to downtown Wellsville.

Together, the projects represent $440,000 in New York Forward Small Project Fund awards, along with approximately $285,000 in investment from property owners, for a total estimated investment of $725,000 in the Village of Wellsville.

The Small Project Fund was established as part of the larger New York Forward grant awarded to Wellsville, providing an opportunity to direct additional funding toward smaller-scale projects that can make a meaningful difference in the downtown area.

Main Street Wellsville NY

The Village is grateful for the New York Forward funding and for the work of the Wellsville Economic Development Board in securing the larger grant and helping bring these additional resources to the community. Their efforts have helped create an opportunity for local property and business owners to invest in their buildings and businesses.

The projects include a variety of improvements including façade improvements such as new windows and painting, infrastructure improvements for commercial and residential rental properties along Main Street, as well as equipment upgrades.

Several of the projects are already underway, with property and business owners making improvements that are beginning to make a noticeable difference throughout downtown.

“This is the kind of investment that you can see and feel right here in our community,” said Wellsville Mayor Ed Fahs. “We’re very grateful for the New York Forward funding and for the Wellsville Economic Development Board’s work to secure these dollars for our community. Our local property and business owners are putting their own time, money, and pride into these projects, and the grant funding helps them take those investments a little further. When you put 15 projects like this together, it really starts to add up and make a difference.”

The approximately $725,000 in combined investment will help make Wellsville more attractive and welcoming while supporting local businesses and encouraging continued private investment.

“We’ve got a lot of good things happening in Wellsville, and it’s encouraging to see people willing to invest in our community,” Mayor Fahs added.

The New York Forward Small Project Fund is an important part of Wellsville’s continued efforts to revitalize its downtown, support local businesses, improve properties, and create a community where people want to live, work, shop, and visit.

Keep your eyes out for more to come over the next year as these projects continue to move forward and more improvements take shape throughout downtown Wellsville.
