Some Major League Baseball broadcast teams stay together for decades. And then there’s the Miami Marlins.
As Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported, the Marlins have told Kyle Sielaff that his time as the franchise’s TV voice was ending after two seasons.

The Marlins are also moving on from television analyst Jeff Nelson, studio host Craig Minervini, and analyst Rod Allen.
According to Jackson, current Marlins radio announcer Jack McMullen is a strong front-runner to replace Sielaff.
Meanwhile, former Miami Hurricanes and Marlins first baseman Gaby Sanchez will take the Marlins’ primary television analyst role and work most of the team’s games next season. The Marlins will also bring in a second analyst to share the role with Sanchez.
The Marlins have used a rotating cast of analysts in recent seasons, with three in 2026 (Hutton, Nelson and Sanchez). Hutton retired at season’s end, and the Marlins have moved on from Nelson.

The Marlins have installed revolving doors in the TV and radio booths in recent years. After Rich Waltz retired as the Marlins’ TV voice in 2017 following 13 seasons, Paul Severino held the job for seven years before the Marlins didn’t renew his contract after the 2024 season. Sielaff, previously the Marlins’ radio voice, moved to television in 2025, and McMullen took his radio chair.
According to Jackson, McMullen is seen as the frontrunner for the job as he’s viewed as “having considerable natural talent as a broadcaster” and shone in several August TV appearances when he and Sielaff switched roles for a series.
The Marlins booth hasn’t performed well in Awful Announcing’s MLB local announcer rankings. The most recent booth finished 26th overall, drawing heavy criticism from fans who felt the product lacked “polish” and “charisma.” It had finished 28th the year prior. Meanwhile, the radio booth didn’t fare any better, finishing 29th overall, though McMullen earned individual praise as a “keeper” and a “big, big improvement,” thanks to strong preparation and a great radio voice.
