Absolute Security acquired FirmGuard from Phoenix Technologies, expanding its firmware security and cyber resilience capabilities.
FirmGuard provides UEFI BIOS firmware security, management, and networking technology.
Absolute plans to integrate FirmGuard with Absolute Persistence, its firmware-embedded technology powering the company’s Autonomous Cyber Resilience Platform.
The combined platform is designed to provide greater firmware visibility, integrity verification, security posture management, continuous patching, and compliance enforcement.
Absolute said the capabilities are increasingly important as organizations deploy AI workstations and autonomous agents.
The company’s technology is embedded in the firmware of approximately 600 million endpoint devices through relationships with manufacturers including Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
Absolute also works with NVIDIA and HP on AI workstation and autonomous agent capabilities.
The first phase of the FirmGuard integration is expected to include expanded below-the-operating-system management, continuous firmware integrity monitoring and patching, additional data-wipe options, and a unified firmware-to-cloud management console.
Boston Meridian Partners served as exclusive financial advisor to Phoenix Technologies.
