Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat are rolling into next week’s NBA season opener, as the Greek superstar claimed their chemistry is now at an “all-time high.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo believes the Miami Heat are fully ready to go into next week’s new NBA season.
Talking to the media after Miami’s dominant 144-128 preseason win over the Brooklyn Nets, Antetokounmpo claimed that his team’s chemistry has already reached its peak.
“I feel like our chemistry is at an all-time high,” Antetokounmpo said. “Obviously it can get better, but we have such good guys who try to do the right thing, and guys that are there cheering for one another. So it doesn’t matter who plays, people are going to go in there, give everything they have, play hard.
“So it’s fun, it’s fun to be a part of a group like that. I think we have something special, but we haven’t really done anything, it’s just preseason and the season hasn’t even started. But we have a great group.”
Giannis, Heat peaking at the best possible time ahead of new NBA season
By securing the home win against the Brooklyn Nets, the Miami Heat improved and are now holding a strong 3-1 record in their 2026 preseason slate.
Despite Bam Adebayo resting, the Heat nailed the easy win behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 20 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists in just 24 minutes.
Eight other Heat players tallied double digits in points, headlined by Andrew Wiggins’ 19 points and Tim Hardaway recording 14.
Miami overwhelmed Brooklyn on the defensive end as well, as the Nets shot just 43.8% from the field.
Giannis admitted last week that it would still take time for him and the Heat to adjust to one another. However, the team appears to have found its rhythm quickly, showing strong chemistry and winning basketball.
The Greek superstar and his Miami squad will face the Orlando Magic on Saturday for the preseason finale before shifting to next week’s opening night.
