COLUMBUS, Ohio – Over the past five days, the Ohio State men’s tennis program has welcomed opponents from 15 other schools while hosting the ITA Midwest Regionals. The tournament offers a chance for the singles finalists to qualify for NCAA Singles and doubles champions to qualify for NCAA Doubles.
Eight Buckeyes entered the tournament for singles and doubles, with Preston Stearns, Brandon Carpico, and Victor Lilov reaching the tournament semifinals. This guarantees at least one Buckeye qualifies for NCAAs as Carpico and Preston will face each other in the tournament semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Lilov will compete against Adam Jilly of Illinois in the semifinals for a spot in NCAA Singles as well.
Since both singles finalists qualify for the NCAA tournament in November, the championship match will not be played out.
