LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — KB Home joined North Las Vegas officials and the Latin Chamber of Commerce on Thursday for a ribbon-cutting at its new Sandstone community in Tule Springs.
The builder is advertising homes starting in the low $300,000s at the development near the 215 Beltway and North Fifth Street.
“This has been multiple years in the making,” said Jim McDade, a division president for KB Home.
McDade said the ceremony marked the opening of a model home park that will have 14 model homes. The first phase of the development calls for roughly 1,500 homes across about 300 acres, he said.
The community will include four neighborhoods with a mix of one- and two-story townhomes and single-family homes, according to the builder. KB Home is targeting first-time buyers and those looking to move up from their first home.
“So the majority of what we’re selling is under $400,000,” McDade said. “Our whole company philosophy is built around is affordability. We try to be the best value. We try not to have a bunch of gimmicks and other things to just get you the best price you can.”
North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown said the project could give young families more options for homeownership.
“I think it’s very important to bring a quality product at an affordable price for that young family or those looking for their first home,” Goynes-Brown said.
Sales are open, and McDade said the builder expects to begin delivering homes to buyers in January.
