Barcelona have received an encouraging boost in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro, with the Spain international favouring a move to Catalonia over a switch to Real Madrid, as per Cadena SER.
As already reported, club president Joan Laporta is a fan of the right-back and wants to bring him to Barcelona, although the transfer fee could prove a significant obstacle as the La Liga champions assess their defensive options.

Joan Laporta wants Barcelona to sign Pedro Porro
Barcelona have already made enquiries about Porro’s situation as they consider strengthening their right flank, with a potential move being explored for either the January transfer window or next summer.
The Tottenham defender is keen to return to La Liga, with concerns about his club’s situation in England potentially affecting his prospects with the Spanish national team.

Crucially, Porro is said to prefer Barcelona over Real Madrid at this stage. That would be a welcome development for the Blaugrana, particularly with Jose Mourinho also considering the defender as they look to resolve their own problems at right-back.

Porro’s attacking qualities and familiarity with La Liga make him an appealing candidate. His understanding with Lamine Yamal during the recent World Cup could be another positive factor as Barcelona consider how to strengthen their right side.
Jules Kounde’s uncertain future could accelerate Barcelona’s interest
Barcelona’s interest in Porro also comes amid uncertainty surrounding Jules Kounde’s long-term future at the club.
The Frenchman has been an important option at right-back, but his future is far from certain. If Barcelona decide to consider a departure or reassess their options in the position, recruiting a specialist right-back could become a greater priority.

Porro would offer an established alternative, with experience in English football and the Spanish national team.
Barcelona may currently hold an advantage over Real Madrid if the 27-year-old star’s preference proves decisive, but that alone will not guarantee a deal.
Transfer fee could complicate Barcelona’s pursuit
The biggest obstacle could be the financial cost of signing Porro from Tottenham. Barcelona’s transfer plans remain dependent on their available resources and the possibility of generating funds through player departures.
Even if Laporta and Deco are keen to bring the defender to the club, Tottenham would reportedly demand a massive fee of around £75 million for the Spaniard.
Porro’s reported preference for Barcelona is undoubtedly encouraging, but the Catalan club must turn that interest into a financially viable proposal.
