West Louisville venue set to host MMA showcase event | News from WDRB

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A premier Mixed Martial Arts showcase will be held this weekend in west Louisville.

“Future of Fighting 3: The Takeover” is scheduled for Saturday at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage at 18th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard in the Russell neighborhood.

Phil Perkins, owner and CEO of the center, promised an evening of exhilarating combat and entertainment with 16 fights and one grappling match.

“It’s a beautiful venue,” Perkins said. “We’re excited to showcase the west end of Louisville and bring some tourism to the city, another professional sport to the city. This is the only mixed martial arts league here that is by somebody that lives in Louisville.”

  • C. Floyd vs. J. Serrato 185 lbs
  • Donavon Smith vs. T. Kirkpatrick 155 lbs
  • Jordan Gast vs. Dylan Mays 145 lbs
  • Gabriel Harris vs. Zachary Russ 170 lbs
  • Jacob Yancey vs. Gates Cook 170 lbs
  • B. Stinson vs. S. Martinez 155 lbs
  • Matthew Munoz vs. Dustin Rogan 265 lbs
  • Angel Gazcon vs. Isaac Yan 155 lbs
  • Hugo Ponce vs. M. Bucerzan 125 lbs
  • Evan Dewitt vs. Travis Hudson 170 lbs
  • Damien Sanders vs. Mason Collette 145 lbs

Last month, the KFC Yum! Center hosted UFC Fight Night, which was the highest-grossing U.S. UFC fight of all time, bringing in more than $2.5 million. The event was also the highest grossing single-day sporting event at the Yum! Center with 19,578 fans in attendance.

Door open at 5:45 p.m. Saturday at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage. The show starts at 7 p.m.
