DENVER (KDVR) – The Denver Zoo is officially rebranding to “Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance.”
The name change is focused on integrating wildlife into future generations, according to a press conference Tuesday morning.
Located in City Park, the zoo unveiled its new logo with the name “Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance” in green text around a lion’s head. The zoo’s Facebook page and website were updated shortly after the announcement.
In an announcement posted on Facebook, the zoo said: “Introducing Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance. New name, eternal mission: Inspiring Communities to Save Wildlife for Future Generations. #SavingWildlifeTogether.”
“The key word in our new name is ‘alliance’ because conservation means collaboration and we need our community of guests, members, donors, staff, volunteers, neighbors and partners to join us in fulfilling our mission,” said Bert Vescolani, president and CEO of DZCA, in a press release. “Together, we are more than our individual actions and we can work in partnership to create a world where wildlife thrives.”
The zoo also announced a partnership with “Be a Good Person” for new merchandise available only to staff, volunteers and members.
