Summer fun has just begun in Boston. If you’re looking to get out and enjoy the warm weather, we’ve rounded up 15 free, outdoor series in the city you can explore this season.
Concerts
ParkARTS Neighborhood Concert Series | Listen to live, local music at these seven shows coming to different neighborhood parks Monday, July 8- Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Golf Course Summer Series — Listen to free music on Wednesday nights at either William J. Devine Golf Clubhouse in Dorchester or George Wright Golf Clubhouse in Hyde Park. This series runs July 10-Aug. 14.
Tito Puente Latin Music Series — In its 16th year, this series continues to bring free music and salsa dancing lessons to Boston parks. Shows are on Thursdays, July 11-Aug. 15.
Revere Beach Summer Music Series — There are five more weeks of live shows at this annual, musical pop-up event. Performances are on Thursdays or Fridays, times vary.
Boston Landmarks Orchestra — This summer series features performances and gatherings to showcase diversity and community in the arts. Shows run on select days Wednesday, July 17-Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade.
Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Park — This series returns for its 22nd year to celebrate local jazz, reggae, and R&B artists with live shows on Tuesday nights, July 9-Aug. 13, at Franklin Park in Roxbury.
Summer Concerts at Sam Adams Park — This partnership between Faneuil Hall and Berklee College of Music will feature performances from students, staff, and faculty on select days starting Friday, July 12 through Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Fitness
River Fit Summer Fitness Series — Get moving with the Esplanade Association’s fitness classes including running, Zumba, and yoga. Sessions are on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Boston Parks Fitness Series — There’s still plenty of time to take advantage of these free fitness classes. Sessions can be found across city parks or virtually through Saturday, Aug. 31.
Seaport Sweat — This all-levels fitness series returns to Seaport Common for its ninth year, offering a variety of outdoor classes through Saturday, Sept. 28.
Movies
Parks Movie Nights — This series is bringing the box office to 11 local neighborhoods in August with a schedule of films ranging from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” to “Encanto.”
Summer Flicks — Grab a blanket and head to the Prudential Center’s South Garden for these free films under the stars. Movie nights are on Saturdays, July 13-Aug. 24.
Other fun
Alianza Park Series — Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation are bringing this traveling beer garden to various parks in the city, offering food and drinks for purchase. There are six more stops on its tour that runs through Sunday, Sept. 22.
Rosalita’s Marionette Puppets — These family-friendly shows feature professional puppeteer Charlotte Anne Dore on Thursdays or Fridays at parks across the city.
Boston Women’s Market — Discover local, women-owned businesses at this Quincy Market gathering. It pop ups one Sunday a month through August.
