Where the good news shines
MSU Denver first baseman Jake Williams was named to the NCAA Division II Academic All-America second team by College Sports Communicators this week.
This is the second straight year the first baseman took home the honor.
Williams, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Academic Player of the Year, was 2023 CSC Academic All-America first team selection and also earned 2023 All-America second team (ABCA, NCBWA) and third team (D2CCA) honors.
Williams broke the program’s 32-year-old career home run record (he’s second now after being passed by teammate Zach Schuler) this season while batting .348 with 12 homers and 53 RBIs in 2024.
He’s MSU Denver’s second two-time Academic All-American in baseball, following Logan Soole (2020-21).
