Arizona State’s Judy Chepkoech (women’s) and Texas Tech’s Edwin Kiprono (men’s) earned Big 12 weekly honors for the fourth week of the season.
Chepkoech earned her second Conference award of the season after winning her second consecutive meet at the UC Riverside Invite. The true freshman clocked a time of 19:31.7, over 25 seconds faster than the runner-up. The freshman never trailed in the race that included previously No. 22-ranked California Baptist.
Kiprono collected the second-consecutive Big 12 weekly award for the Red Raiders. The native from Eldoret, Kenya claimed the 8k title at the NMJC Invitational with a time of 23:30.70, crossing the finish line almost 45 seconds ahead of second place for the fourth-best course time at Harry McAdams Park. It is his first career Big 12 weekly award.
