Sir Rod Stewart announces tour kicking off in Austin

TEXAS — Sir Rod Stewart has announced a farewell tour which includes a stop to the Lone Star State. The One Last Time tour will include 20 concerts across North America next year.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will kick off his tour in Austin on March 7 at the Moody Center. Stewart will be joined by fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick, with whom he toured with in 2022.

The 79-year-old British rockstar released his 33rd studio album, “Swing Fever,” earlier this year.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. local time at RodStewart.com. Presale tickets go on sale Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m.

Stewart, known for his raspy voice and a string of hits, got his start in music in the 1960s. He was in the band Long John Baldry and the All Stars before joining the Jeff Beck Group in 1967. He joined Faces in 1969 and kicked off a solo career that year as well. 

Stewart’s breakthrough solo album was 1971’s “Every Picture Tells a Story.” It yielded the hit ballad “Maggie May.” Some of Stewart’s other hits include “You Wear It Well,” “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright),” and “Rhythm of My Heart.”
