EXCLUSIVE: The National Association of Latino Independent Producers has appointed four to its Board of Directors: Daniela Federman, TV Scripted agent at WME; Erika Kennair, Head of Scripted, US and Canada at The Mediapro Studio; Al Madrigal, actor, writer, and comedian; and Gina Reyes, an agent at United Talent Agency.

NALIP is an organization that supports the advancement of Latino Excellence across all creative media platforms. Since its founding in 1999, membership has become a supportive community of diverse storytellers – including producers, performers, writers, directors, and industry professionals.

“We welcome our new Board members, who bring a wealth of expertise, leadership, and vision to NALIP,” said Karla Pita Loor, Chair of NALIP’s Board of Directors. “Their extensive experience in varied sectors of our business will drive NALIP’s growth and impact as we work to ensure that the entertainment industry more accurately reflects the diversity of our audiences,” she added.

The organization has also revealed its newly elected officers for the 2025-2026 term. Joining Treasurer Robert Cruz and Chair Karla Pita Loor as officers are Jairo Alvarado, who has been set as Vice Chair, and Erika Kennair as Secretary. Alexander Zahn will continue to serve the Board’s programming committee.

Learn more about the four new members of the Board of Directors below.

Daniela Federman is a TV Scripted Agent at WME. In her role, she works primarily with writers, directors, and producers focusing on underrepresented, diverse, and international voices. Federman began her career in the WME mailroom, before becoming an agent. Internally at the agency, Daniela plays a key role in running the Latin Crossover group, an inter-departmental initiative to create a cohesive group within the agency for clients focused on Latin business. Originally from Mexico City, Federman’s experience growing up in a multicultural household fostered her love of television series and films. She is a graduate of Boston University who resides in Los Angeles.

As the Head of Scripted Content for The Mediapro Studio, US and Canada, Erika Kennair oversees the procurement, development, and production of features and TV series like HBO’s The Young Pope/The New Pope, and the features Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Official Competition and The Good Boss. Before that, a sampling of Kennair’s resume includes her work as President of Production for Extracurricular, Malala Yousafzai’s entertainment company overseeing projects like the AppleTV+ doc, The Last of the Sea Women with A24, and the Independent Spirit Award Winning Film, Joyland.

As SVP of Development at Berlanti Productions, she produced the multiple award-nominated series, Max’s The Flight Attendant, You for Netflix, and the docuseries Helter Skelter for Epix. As VP of Comedy Development at ABC, Kennair oversaw creative for American Housewife, Splitting Up Together, Roseanne, and The Connors. Kennair serves on the executive board of The Humanitas Prize.

Madrigal currently stars as Oscar on NBC’s hit comedy Lopez vs. Lopez. In addition to being an actor on numerous TV shows, he was also the Latino Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. A sampling of Madrigal’s many film credits include The Way Back with Ben Affleck and Night School alongside Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. As a writer, Madrigal has written on multiple shows, including Jim Carrey’s I’m Dying Up Here, and Broke with Jaime Camil. He’s currently developing an extensive slate of Latino-centric projects for TV within his current deal at CBS Studios.

In 2022, he teamed with AWA and former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso to release his comic book Primos. As an entrepreneur, Madrigal and fellow comedian, Bill Burr, founded All Things Comedy in addition to producing several movies and TV shows for the comedy podcast network.

Gina Reyes is a TV literary agent at United Talent Agency where she represents writers and directors including Ben Watkins – Showrunner (Cross, Truth Be Told), Meredith Stiehm – Showrunner (Cold Case, Homeland), Chuck Hayward – Writer (Ted Lasso, Wandavision), Aitch Alberto – Writer and Director (Duster, Little America); Marvin Lemus – Showrunner and Director (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day/Disney +, Gentefied/Netflix), Eif Rivera – Director (Killing Castro, Wu-Tang); Rebecca Rodriguez – EP, Writer, Director (Zorro, Breathe, Debris), Santa Sierra – EP, Writer (Raising Kanan, Vida), and Alessandra Lacorazza – Writer & Director (In the Summers), among others.

Prior to UTA she was a TV literary agent at Verve Talent and Literary agency where she spent 3 ½ years building her roster of clients. Reyes started her Hollywood career at the International Creative Management talent agency in Motion Picture Production transitioning to Film Development in her post with Salma Hayek’s production company, Ventanazul. She followed with the role of Creative Executive in feature film development at 20th Century Fox Film before moving to 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company.
