Join WBEZ in conversation with New York Times best-selling author and feminist icon Roxane Gay at the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture on February 19. Gay will discuss her newest title, The Portable Feminist Reader, with the host of WBEZ’s Reset, Sasha-Ann Simons.
The Portable Feminist Reader dives into the history of American feminism as Gay considers multicultural perspectives and intersectional issues like ecofeminism, feminism, disability, and Black feminism.
The title contains selected writings by ancient, historic, and more recent feminist voices, including Henricus Cornelius Agrippa, Anna Julia Cooper, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Dorothy Allison, Leslie Feinberg, Eileen Myles, Mona Eltahawy, bell hooks, Sara Ahmed, Cherríe Moraga, Audre Lorde, The Guerrilla Girls, and many more.
Each ticket comes with a signed copy of The Portable Feminist Reader. We are proud to partner with Women & Children First.
