WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) and Vice Chair of Communications Norma Torres (CA-35) released the following statement:

“As the 47th President takes office, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) will continue to champion the priorities of Latino families and marginalized communities, making certain their voices are heard, and their needs are met. Earlier this month, the CHC met and outlined an ambitious agenda for the 119th Congress focused on ensuring all Latinos are well informed, expanding education and workforce opportunities, protecting access to affordable housing and healthcare resources, and advancing justice and equity for every American. With a steadfast commitment to the well-being of Latino communities, the CHC will keep fighting for policies that uplift families, protect their livelihoods, and secure a brighter future for the next generation.

“The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is unwavering in its commitment to championing Latino communities and working families,” said CHC Chair Adriano Espaillat. “As the new administration takes office, we will fight tirelessly for policies that expand opportunities, protect livelihoods, and secure a brighter future for all. Our message is clear: the contributions of Latinos are vital to this nation, and the CHC will hold leaders accountable to ensure our communities thrive.”

“Hispanic Americans are shaping the future of this nation, and the CHC is ready to work with President Trump to uplift Latino communities across every sector,” said Vice Chair of Communications Norma Torres. “We look forward to working with this administration to deliver for Latino families. But let me be clear: if harmful rhetoric or policies persist, the CHC will not hesitate to set the record straight and advocate for the growth and success of our community.”

Latinos are the largest minority group in the United States, with projections showing they will comprise the majority in some states by mid-century. Latino youth represent nearly a quarter of the nation’s under-18 population, underscoring their vital role in shaping the future of America. The challenges facing our country today also deeply affect Latino communities and working families nationwide. The CHC’s priorities reflect our shared American values of democracy, fairness, and opportunity. As the new administration takes office, the CHC remains committed to fostering safe, thriving communities where every family can succeed, and every child has the chance to achieve their dreams.

Latinos are driving the future of this nation, and the CHC remains steadfast in holding the President accountable while working to ensure genuine progress for Latino communities across all sectors. The CHC will firmly defend the growth and contributions of Latino Americans and will not allow misinformation or attacks to go unchallenged. The fight for our communities and working families continues with unwavering determination. The CHC’s mission is unequivocal: to champion Hispanic families and the hardworking individuals fueling America’s economy—regardless of who holds power.
