The NBA 2025 playoffs are here, and we have the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets clashing in one of the first round series. The Houston Rockets finished the regular season with a solid 52-30 record, which got them the second berth in the conference. On the other hand, the Warriors made it to the playoffs through the play-in tournament and booked the seventh spot in the standings.

The Warriors finished with a 48-34 record and defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament to make it to the playoffs. They started the season on a 12-3 record, but weren’t able to keep up with the pace for too long. The Dubs struggled and faced consecutive losses, but their acquisition of Jimmy Butler turned out to be a great success. The Warriors are 16-4 with the former Miami Heat star and are now in contention to win their eighth NBA Championship.

Butler, who became the only player in the Dubs’ history to have over 300 points, 100+ rebounds, and 100+ assists in their first 20 games with the team, has cemented himself as a championship-contending weapon for Steve Kerr.

On the other hand, the Rockets, who are set for their first playoffs since 2020, will meet the rivals who eliminated them in four of the past six postseasons. They have been successful in the current season, but with the second seed, the expectations have raised significantly high. The team will rely on veterans like Alperen Sengun and Dillon Brooks to step up and help them in need.

Houston Rockets’ Injuries

Jock Landale- Out (Right Knee Contusion)
Jae’Sean Tate- out (Right Ankle Impingement)

Jock Landale will miss the opening game of the series due to a right knee contusion. He could be replaced by Steven Adams in the first game of the series, and would be expected to be back in the Game 2 on Wednesday. Apart from him, Jae’Sean Tate, who missed the final two regular season games with a right ankle injury, will also be out of Game 1 and continue his rehabilitation.

Golden State Warriors’ Injuries

The Warriors have listed Stephen Curry and Gary Payton II on the injury report with right and left thumb splints, respectively. However, there is no worry as both the players have been listed as available to play against the Rockets in Game 1.
