DENVER – Lauren Spence joins the University of Denver women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach, head coach Liza Kelly announced on Monday.
“We are so excited to welcome Lauren to the Pioneer family,” Kelly said. “She will be a great addition to our staff. Her impressive playing career provides the necessary experience to translate seamlessly to the coaching side of the sport. We can’t wait to welcome her to Denver and hit the summer recruiting trails with her!”
Spence put together a decorated career as a three-year starting goalkeeper for the Loyola Greyhounds. The Colorado native was a three-time IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Selection and two-time Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year.
Spence played alongside senior attacker Lauren Black with Team Canada at the World Games in July 2022. She posted a 5-0 record with 8.2 goals against average with 53 saves and 0.564 goals against average en-route to a gold medal performance.
“Accepting this position as a lacrosse coach feels absolutely incredible,” Spence said. ” Coming back to my hometown and having the chance to be a part of this amazing program is truly a dream come true and I’m so excited to get started!”
