HOUSTON — 4004 Inverness Drive in River Oaks was the most expensive Houston-area home sold the week of May 11, according to the Houston Association of Realtors.
The 7,473-square-foot home was designed by the late Houston architect Charles Tapley and was listed at $8.85 million. The home underwent extensive renovations that added contemporary upgrades, like a fitness room, a new pool pavilion and an electric vehicle charging outlet in the garage.
It went up for sale in March with an asking price of $8.9 million and sold on May 15 for between $7.8 million and $9 million. HAR ranks homes by sales price but does not disclose actual figures. According to Zillow, the sale was pending by April 4, less than a month after hitting the market on March 19.
Built in 1974, 4004 Inverness Drive has four to five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths.
