DENVER – The University of Denver men’s basketball program has signed North Dakota State transfer Jeremiah Burke to its 2025-26 roster, first-year head coach Tim Bergstraser announced on Wednesday.
“Our program is very excited to add Jeremiah,” Bergstraser said. “He has a lot of skill putting it on the floor, being a threat from the arc and is another high-level athlete for our roster. He plays with a ton of effort and it will fit in perfectly with his like-minded teammates around him.”
A year ago, Burke averaged 8.4 minutes per game in Fargo, averaging 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per contest, reaching double figures once in his 14 appearances. In his first season with the Bison, Burke made 29 appearances in 32 NDSU contests. Burke averaged 3.3 points and 2.6 boards in his first season at the Division I level, scoring a career-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds in 20 minutes on December 10, 2023.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Burke joined NDSU’s roster in 2023-24 after two seasons at Iowa Lakes Community College (2021-23). While at ILCC, Burke was named the conference player of the year and a NJCAA First Team All-American as a sophomore in 2022-23, averaging 14.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Burke led Iowa Lakes to the Region II Championship that season and earned a bid to the national tournament. In a reserve role in his freshman season at ILCC, Burke posted 8.2 points per game and pulled down 5.4 rebounds per contest.
Burke played his high school basketball at St. Francis High School, averaging 27 points and 19 rebounds en-route to First Team All-Midwest Classic Conference honors.
Burke is the eighth new Pioneer to join the roster since Bergstraser took over as head coach in April, joining an MSUM quartet of transfers in Corleone Dandridge, Shaun Wysocki, Carson Johnson and Logan Kinsey, Missouri Western State transfer Zane Nelson, former Western Illinois and Kent State guard Julius Rollins and Pima CC center Gabe Oldham who signed earlier this offseason.
