Elon Musk’s automotive company is temporarily pausing manufacturing starting June 30, according to a Business Insider report.

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — Elon Musk’s automotive company will reportedly halt manufacturing of certain vehicles for one week at the end of June into July.

Tesla will stop production on its Cybertruck and Model Y vehicles starting June 30 to allow for maintenance, according to Business Insider.

During this time, workers at Travis County’s Tesla Gigafactory can participate in voluntary training and cleaning and/or use their paid time off.

This isn’t the first time Musk’s business has temporarily halted production. Tesla made a similar move last month, making this the second time in two months when operations were put on pause.

The company reported a Year-over-Year (YoY) decrease of 13% in its first quarter this year. Tesla’s total revenue dropped by 9% from the year before, and its automotive revenue reportedly dipped by 20%.

The decrease comes as Musk receives backlash for his efforts with the Trump administration, where he originally planned to cut $2 trillion in government spending through his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

This led to layoffs across various federal agencies, including the Department of the Interior, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Musk left his role with DOGE late last month, with plans to focus more on Tesla.

“Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms,” he posted to X on May 24.

This month, Musk said he plans to bring autonomous vehicles to Austin, with a tentative launch date of June 22. In a video posted to X on June 10, one of Musk’s’ Model Y Robotaxi vehicles was reportedly seen driving itself on South Congress Avenue ahead of the launch.
