For now, the bar on 1100 East is open three nights a week.

A Sugar House bar has reopened under new ownership after being shut down for about six months.
SugarHouse Pub, at 1994 S. 1100 East in Salt Lake City, was the target of a law enforcement operation on Nov. 22 that found evidence of underage drinking on the premises. Through an emergency order, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services suspended alcohol sales at the bar in December, and SugarHouse Pub had been closed since then.
The two new owners, Paul and Xenia Maritsas, a father-and-daughter team, bought the SugarHouse Pub business and reopened the bar on May 31. They are in the process of purchasing the building itself.
In 1986, Paul Maritsas opened the Speedway Cafe, an iconic all-ages music venue at 500 South and 500 West in Salt Lake City, and ran it up until it closed in 1991.
At the moment, SugarHouse Pub is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., although the owners plan to expand those hours by fall, Paul Maritsas said.
