ATLANTA – Former Tulane pitcher Keagan Gillies was among the next generation of stars named to the roster for the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game on Monday.

Gillies is the first former Tulane player named to the Futures Game since current Detroit Tigers catcher Jake Rogers in 2019.

He is one of just 50 players in all of minor baseball that was chosen to participate in the game this season. The game will be played on Saturday, July 12, at 3 p.m. CT at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia in a US vs. World format. The contest will be shown live on MLB Network and will be simulcast on MLB.TV, MLB.com and via the MLB App. Melanie Newman, Yonder Alonso, Jonathan Mayo and Sande Charles will be on the call for the contest.

Gillies is 4-1 on the season for the Chesapeake Baysox with a 1.15 ERA in 26 games pitched. He has totaled eight saves while allowing just 14 hits in 31.1 innings pitched with 34 strikeouts and a .128 batting average against.

He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 15th round in 2021 and has climbed to Double A in their system. In his minor league career, he has 11 wins and 172 strikeouts in 140.2 innings worked.

Gillies pitched at Tulane from 2017-21. He totaled 10 wins while appearing in 79 games with 30 starts. In 215.1 innings he fanned 187 during his collegiate career. He had a breakout final campaign at Tulane with 0.96 ERA in 19 games along with five saves. He totaled 44 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched while limiting opponents to a .133 batting average.

The 2025 MLB Draft is set to begin one day later on July 13 also in Atlanta.
