The Miami Marlins have drafted Florida State outfielder Max Williams with the No. 78 pick in the 2025 MLB draft. He is the fourth FSU player to be taken in the first three rounds, joining Jamie Arnold (Athletics), Alex Lodise (Atlanta Brabes), and Cam Leiter (Los Angeles Dodgers). Williams spent the final two seasons of his career at FSU after starting his career at Alabama. He played in 119 games as a Seminole, making 107 starts.
He finished his career hitting .315 with 33 home runs, 20 doubles, and 99 RBI, in 451 at-bats. He had a .995 fielding percentage, making just one error and having four assists.
Williams was at his best as a junior, hitting .321 with 19 home runs, nine doubles, 53 RBI, and 47 runs scored. He has a .603 slugging percentage and walked 19 times. His 19 homers were the second most in the ACC and he made the All-ACC Second Team.
