The Penn State Nittany Lions are gearing up for the college football season, which kicks off in five weeks, with anticipation building for their performance.The team made an appearance at the Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas, where they were voted by the media as the top team in the preseason conference power rankings, fueling the hype surrounding the blue and white for 2025.With the return of veteran players on both sides of the ball and key hires on the coaching staff, head coach James Franklin is also embracing the excitement.”This is the best combined personnel that I think we’ve had at Penn State, and when I talk about personnel, I’m talking about players and staff. From a depth, from a talent standpoint, we expect to have anywhere from 10 to 12 guys drafted this year. We’ve averaged over five draft picks per year in my 12 years here at Penn State. A stat that we are very, very proud of,” Franklin said.The Nittany Lions have three players on the preseason honors list, tying with Ohio State for the most.The honored players include quarterback Drew Allar, Governor Mifflin graduate Nick Singleton, and Dani Dennis-Sutton.The season opens on Aug. 30, hosting Nevada.
