SEATTLE — Buoy, Gritty, and Youppi, oh my!
The NHL mascots descended on the Kraken Community Iceplex Thursday for the Mascot Summer Showdown.
The day was full of antics, pranks, and hockey as the mascots played against Kraken youth hockey players. The 8 and 10-year-olds faced off against each other before a mascot versus youth hockey game.
“We have mascots here from all across the NHL,” said Seattle Kraken Entertainment Assistant Hailey Robinson. “Pretty great turnout, which we were stoked about.”

“To get all of Buoy’s friends from across the country and also some friends from Canada out to experience Seattle was great,” Robinson added.
The event got going while across the city, the NHL Club Business Awards were held in Seattle for the first time.
More than 1,300 representatives gathered for the conference, including attending a Mariners game and a private event at Climate Pledge Arena too.
“Our goal is always to get Buoy out into the community at youth hockey,” Robinson said. “I know that’s true for a lot of these other mascots in their own markets.”
“It’s really fun to get them all together,” Robinson added.
