FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have signed cornerback Grayland Arnold, the team announced Saturday. In a corresponding move, the Falcons have released offensive lineman Kilian Zierer.
Arnold has played four seasons in the NFL, and was most recently on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad for two months during the 2024 season. Arnold’s last game action was for the Houston Texans in 2023, and he appeared in 20 games across three season for the Texans from 2021-23, primarily as a member of their special teams units. He did play key snaps for Houston’s defense during a four-game stretch during the 2023 season, though, including a game against the Falcons. In Week 5 of that season, Arnold played 28 snaps and recorded four tackles.
Prior to arriving in Houston, Arnold spent the 2020 season with the Philadelphia Eagles after joining the organization as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor. Arnold had a standout final college season with the Bears, picking off six passes and leading all FBS players with 118 yards gained off of interceptions. The move continues Atlanta’s preference of adding players with a history of taking the ball away to their secondary.
