The Hispanic-American Women’s Association is gearing up for its 2025 Hispanic Heritage Festival.
Community members are invited to attend the annual festival on Sept. 14. The event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at Fluor Field in Greenville’s West End.
Patricia McDaniel, president of the Hispanic-American Women’s Association, said the Hispanic Heritage Festival is a joyful celebration of culture, food, music, dance and traditions of 17 Hispanic countries. The event marks the beginning of National Hispanic American Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
“We are not just hosting a festival. We are changing lives,” McDaniel said.
The Hispanic-American Women’s Association promotes higher education by supporting Hispanic high school students in Upstate South Carolina with educational scholarships. The nonprofit has awarded $640,000 to nearly 250 Hispanic students over the past 26 years.
The festival’s ticket sales and sponsorships will help support the nonprofit’s mission. Greenville Drive President Jeff Brown said the local baseball team has partnered with the Hispanic-American Women’s Association to host the annual festival over the past four years.
“We’re bringing the entire community together to really learn more about Hispanic culture, to learn more about the impact it has on the community and to really create an afternoon that’s memorable for everyone involved,” Brown said.
