Leah Glasgo, president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge, has been elected to the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees for a three-year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
The Board of Trustees for AHA is the organization’s top decision-making group, guiding its priorities, programs, and resources to support hospitals and improve care for patients and communities nationwide.
“It’s an honor to serve on the AHA Board of Trustees and bring the voice of our rural communities into national healthcare conversations,” said Glasgo. “This role allows me to advocate for Iowa and bring back new ideas, resources, and innovations that help strengthen our local healthcare services.”
Glasgo has served as president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge since January 2019. From 2021 to 2024, she also assumed the role of interim president for UnityPoint Health — Sioux City, providing strategic oversight and operational leadership across both markets.
In Fort Dodge, Glasgo has prioritized expanding access to key specialty services through strategic partnerships and growth in cardiovascular, orthopedic, oncology, and women’s and children’s care. As a nurse, she also has a passion for creating a culture of collaboration to make healthcare better for all.
Prior to joining UnityPoint Health, Glasgo served as president and chief executive officer of Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, where she led the organization for six years with a focus on clinical excellence, community engagement and sustainable growth.
Glasgo is actively involved in healthcare leadership at both the state and national levels. She is a member of the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Committee 6 and serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Hospital Association. She is also chair-elect for the statewide Iowa Poison Control Center. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), reflecting her commitment to professional excellence and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Des Moines University.
