Burlington is expanding its footprint in 20 states by opening dozens of stores.
Some of them will open in a few days, while others are set to open in the coming weeks.
The discount retailer opened its first store in 1972 in Burlington, N.J., and called it The Burlington Coat Factory, according to the company’s official history.
The first location’s name came from being operated out of a factory.
Today, the retailer has more than 1,000 stores across the U.S., according to the company website.
