After releasing defensive back Quinton Newsome on Tuesday, the Denver Broncos officially announced the signing of wide receiver Thayer Thomas to the practice squad on Wednesday.
Thomas (6-0, 195 pounds) spent his first two seasons in the NFL on the practice squad of the Minnesota Vikings after entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of NC State in 2023. The 27-year-old veteran becomes the third wide receiver on the practice squad, joining A.T. Perry and Michael Bandy.
The Broncos also have five wide receivers on the active roster: Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant and Trent Sherfield. Following the Thomas addition, Denver’s 17-player practice squad is now full.
