Pro football season is back, and the 2025 NFL Kickoff Game will see the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles begin the defense of their title in a match against the rival Dallas Cowboys.
The season starts with a special presentation of Sunday Night Football on Thursday, September 4, where the Cowboys and Eagles will begin writing their story on their road to Super Bowl LX.
For the Eagles, it’s a game of defending their championship, and for their NFC East rival Cowboys, it’s a game to bring back hope to their fan base.
The Cowboys are starting fresh with new head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the return of quarterback Dak Prescott following an injury last year.
“I think first and foremost, it was about getting healthy,” Prescott said during training camp this year. “And once I got healthy, I could see progress. And it was about pushing myself each and every day, and I see a guy who is going into Year 10, much better than he was last year, the year before that or I’ve ever been. … Just with the experience of this game, having the teammates and the players that I have around me, getting into a new year with a new coach and a new energy with such a youthful team, I see somebody who feels young again.”
