While an exact location isn’t available, the filing shows a proposed 160,000-square-foot warehouse store along the Grand Parkway.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Costco is planning a new Houston-area store in the Cypress area.
A project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation does not mention the exact location, only that the proposed 160,000-square-foot warehouse store would be on the Grand Parkway in the 77433 ZIP code area.
Issaquah, Washington-based Costco Wholesale Corp. (Nasdaq: COST) did not respond to an email about the project. A spokesperson previously told the Houston Business Journal that the company usually does not comment on future stores until two or three months before an expected opening.
A spokeswoman for Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HHH) said the proposed store will not be in the 11,500-acre Bridgeland master-planned community but that “the nearby location definitely highlights the area’s growing community of residents and businesses.”
Per the project filing, construction is scheduled to start in March and be completed in November of next year. The estimated cost is $64.5 million.
