TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler Athletics and the Track & Field program have officially promoted Nick Anthony to Associate Head Coach. Anthony recently completed his fifth season on staff after joining the Patriots in 2019-20 as an assistant coach.

Before arriving in Tyler, Anthony spent three years coaching at both the Division I and II levels, serving as an assistant at Eastern Washington and Fort Hays State. He is a USA Track & Field Level 1 Certified Coach and also holds certifications as an NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and NCSA Certified Personal Trainer. With his promotion, Anthony will continue to lead UT Tyler’s sprints and hurdles group.

Head Coach David Kaiser praised Anthony’s impact on the program, stating:

“Nick has been a key member of the coaching staff since the 2019-20 season, and has served as Assistant Coach for Sprints and Hurdles, playing a pivotal role in the program’s successful transition from NCAA Division III to NCAA Division II.”

Kaiser added:

“Since arriving in Tyler, Coach Anthony has been instrumental in elevating the performance and competitive profile of the Patriots’ sprint and hurdle groups. Under his guidance, UT Tyler student-athletes have achieved school records, conference championships, and NCAA qualifiers, while embracing a culture of excellence on and off the track. Nick has been an integral part of our growth and success over the past five years. His leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to our student-athletes have been invaluable as we transitioned to NCAA Division II. We are thrilled to recognize his outstanding contributions with this well-deserved promotion.”

UT Tyler Athletic Director Dr. Sam Ferguson also spoke highly of Anthony:

“Coach Anthony is a valuable member of our University community. We are grateful for the way he models our values while transforming the lives of student-athletes. He not only coaches our team to be stronger and faster, he is dedicated to the team’s personal development. We are excited to expand his role.”

During his tenure with the Patriots, Anthony has helped guide the program to remarkable success, including 2 NCAA Division II All-Americans, 12 Division II provisional marks, 5 Lone Star Conference individual champions, 19 all-conference selections, and 52 school records.

UT Tyler Athletics is proud to recognize Coach Anthony’s contributions and looks forward to the continued growth of the program under his expanded leadership.
