Kyle Snyder is no longer scheduled to compete at the second Real American Freestyle event, but a familiar name to MMA fans is taking his place.

Promotional officials announced that Snyder suffered an injury following his recent win at the World Championships, which forced him out of his scheduled bout with NCAA champion and fellow Olympian Mason Parris. Replacing Snyder is former ranked UFC heavyweight, and current PFL fighter Alexandr Romanov. The event takes place Oct. 25 at Penn State, and streams exclusively on Fox Nation.

Real American Freestyle also announced the card is being moved from Rec Hall to the Bryce Jordan Center — an arena that seats over 15,000 people.

Romanov competed 10 times in the UFC’s octagon, compiling a promotional record of 7-3. The 34-year-old parted ways with the UFC following a decision win over Rodrigo Nascimento and signed with the PFL, where he competed in the heavyweight tournament. Romanov won his first two fights before losing a split decision to Oleg Popov in the finals in August.

Parris represented the United States at the 2024 Olympics, losing in the round of 16. Parris won the NCAA national title in folkstyle wrestling in 2023 representing the University of Michigan.
