North Texas at Charlotte (7 pm ET)

North Texas is 6-1, and the Mean Green are making some noise in the American Conference this season. It’s a conference matchup with Charlotte at 7 pm ET on ESPN. It has been a rough season for Charlotte as the 49ers are 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the American Conference.
For North Texas, the Mean Green’s only loss came to South Florida (63-36) a couple of weeks ago. Quarterback Drew Mestemaker has thrown for 1,860 yards and 17 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions to lead North Texas. Mestemaker’s 17 touchdown passes have him tied for 9th in college football this season.
Running back Caleb Hawkins has racked up 499 yards with 7 rushing scores, while Wyatt Young has caught 26 passes for 396 yards with 6 touchdowns.
Cal at Virginia Tech (7:30 pm ET)

Ah, yes, it’s your classic ACC matchup between the California Golden Bears and Virginia Tech Hokies. These teams meet tonight at 7:30 pm ET on ESPN. Cal is 5-2 and 2-1 in conference play, while Virginia Tech is 2-5 with a 1-2 conference mark. The Hokies have dropped their last two games to Georgia Tech (35-20) and Wake Forest (30-23).
Cal rebounded last week with a win over North Carolina (21-18) after dropping a contest to Duke on October 4. The Golden Bears are led by Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele at quarterback. He has thrown for 1,696 yards with 10 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions this season. His top target has been Jacob De Jesus, who has caught 47 passes for 406 yards with 3 touchdowns.
For Virginia Tech, running back Terrion Stewart (325 rush yards) is probable with a shoulder injury, so Marcellous Hawkins might be getting a bulk of the carries tonight. Hawkins has 364 yards on the ground with a TD this season.
Boise State at Nevada (10 pm ET)

The final game of the night features Boise State (5-2, 3-0 in MWC) and Nevada (1-6, 0-3 in MWC). Boise State has recovered well from non-conference losses to Notre Dame (28-7) and South Florida (34-7) to put itself at the top of the Mountain West. Nevada, on the other hand, has dropped five games since it beat Sacramento State 20-17 back in week 2.
Maddux Madsen is at quarterback for the Broncos, and he has thrown for 1,823 yards this season with 15 touchdown passes. Dylan Riley is the team’s leading rusher with 695 yards on the ground and 6 touchdowns. Last week, Riley went off for 201 yards and a TD against UNLV in a 56-31 win.
The game is set for 10 pm ET to close out a college football Friday night..
