BLUE JACKETS AT SABRES (6:45 p.m. ET; FDSNOH, MSG-B)
• Columbus ranks second in midrange shots on goal (93) behind the Colorado Avalanche (104), led by forward Kirill Marchenko (18; third).
• Buffalo forwards have combined for 26 long-range shots on goal, which is tied for fifth in the NHL; Tage Thompson is tied for third at his position in that category (seven) and also leads NHL forwards in 90-plus mph shots (six).
It’s also worth noting defenseman Michael Kesselring, acquired from the Utah Mammoth in the offseason, is expected to make his season debut Tuesday; he was third in the NHL in top shot speed (103.77 mph) last season behind Thompson (106.00) and Gustav Forsling of the Florida Panthers (105.05).
