Students may receive financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans, up to the total UTNY cost of attendance. UTNY participants are registered as full-time UT Austin students, and continue to receive federal financial aid, as well as any university aid and tuition waivers while in New York as if they were studying in Austin. Texas Advanced Commitment does not award tuition funding in Summer.
Students who complete the optional scholarship essay in the UTNY program application will be considered for a UTNY scholarship from their home college. Scholarship amounts vary, but typically range from $3,000 – $6,000. Recipients must remain an enrolled, degree-seeking student in that college through their time on the UTNY program to remain eligible for the scholarship. UTNY scholarships pay out after the first day of classes in New York and cannot be applied to the UTNY program deposit.
In addition, UTNY students can apply for internship scholarships to support their time on the program. Other scholarships from departments or student orgs to support professional development, travel, research or career development may also apply.
