PHOENIX — The city of Gilbert will be celebrating the completion of mixed-use retail center Verde at Cooley Station this Friday and Saturday with a grand opening, a Thursday press release.
The 23-acre space occupied with various restaurants, offices, parks and apartment units is located at 3945 E. Williams Field Road.
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Friday and the festivities will continue in the night, as there will also be a free movie screening and comedy show.
For the kids and kids at heart, the celebration will include an appearance from a Disney princess.
Additionally on Friday, guests will have the chance to win up to $4,000 in prizes made possible by the “Verde Crawl” promotion with the Gilbert mixed-use tenants.
Saturday will be an extension of the fun, as guests can look forward to live music, yoga, Phoenix Suns dancers and Go the Gorilla team mascot, a magician, a golf simulator and more prize giveaways throughout the day.
To close out the grand opening, bands The Chadwicks and Soulitify will play on the Earnhardt Hyundai San Tan Pavilion Stage from 6 to 9 p.m.
Norman Bordy, managing partner of the Verde at Cooley Station, said he is “thrilled” to celebrate this opening.
“Verde at Cooley Station was designed as a gathering place to bring people together, and we’re excited to officially welcome locals and visitors alike to enjoy all that this destination has to offer,” Bordy said.
The mixed-use center added a trio of stores in April.
