I’m taking up the role of Chief Technology Officer at the Res PublicAI foundation, which I started together with Olivier VAN RAEMDONCK and Thierry Geerts to bring responsible AI to people, companies, governments and research. Society and industry deserve more AI, not less—delivered in a way that is sustainable and safe, adding value for everyone involved. Since the start of 2025, we’ve been working with citizens, industry, research, and government to support an exciting and inclusive AI future.
This marks the end of a wonderful 15 years as a researcher at our KNoWS group at IDLab (UGent – imec) and within the Semantic Web domain. While I will leave imec, I will remain an associate professor at Ghent University.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone I’ve met on this journey. I’ve learned a lot from all of you.
