NMDCA News:
ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is seeking proposals from experienced restauranteurs to operate a nearly 2,000 square foot space on the National Hispanic Cultural Center’s Albuquerque campus. Proposals can be for any type of food and drink enterprise, such as an ice cream shop, bakery, coffee house, or specialty foods.
The facility is an existing 1,970-square-foot small restaurant space with a commercial kitchen in the Center’s Pete V. Domenici Education Building. The street-facing space includes all commercial kitchen equipment, a dedicated outdoor dining area spanning approximately 1,700 square feet, and the exclusive use of two full liquor licenses for use at the leased premises, the Roy E. Disney Performing Arts Center, and at other designated areas on the NHCC campus. All utilities are included along with ample on-site parking.
The NHCC hosted over 100,000 visitors in 2025. The main entrance to the NHCC campus is from a signalized intersection at 8th Street and Avenida Dolores Huerta which experiences average weekday traffic volumes of over 39,000 vehicles per day. The site also now has direct access to the Paseo del Bosque Bike Trail making it a perfect stop off for trail users.
