LOS ANGELES — Twenty-five Oscar nominees will walk away with a swag bag stuffed with hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of luxury items.
Gift-giving company Distinctive Assets delivers it all to the stars in suitcases.
The Academy itself stopped providing official gift bags in 2006.
The nominees in the acting and directing categories are treated to everything from fashion to beauty products, as well as travel.
“We’ve got about $200,000 worth of incredible luxury villas around the world, Ibiza, Finland, Sri Lanka”, said Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary.
There are also products from Philadelphia in the gift bags, from the company Danucera.
They are giving the stars their D22 tonic and the Cerabalm.
Fary says many of the brands involved are female-owned small businesses, and the celebrities can use their platforms to shine a spotlight on small businesses and small brands that can benefit from it.
