The holiday season is a great time for kicking back and watching basketball, and that’s still true even after Christmas is over and the march to the New Year has begun. While you’re eating leftovers, playing with all your new gifts, and just generally trying to relax, some of the NBA’s best teams will be live on NBC and Peacock with some of the final basketball games of 2025.
On December 29 and December 30, you’ll get four NBA on NBC matchups spread out across two doubleheaders, so let’s take a closer look at the final week of the year’s basketball lineup!

NBA games on NBC and Peacock this week
We begin with a Monday doubleheader of games live on NBC and streaming on Peacock. It all starts with a cross-conference battle at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, December 29, as the Cleveland Cavaliers head to San Antonio to take on Victor Wembanyama and the red-hot Spurs. It’s a big game for both teams, as the Cavs try to end the year on a high note and the Spurs try to prove they can keep hanging with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the top of the Western Conference.
At 10:30 p.m. ET on Monday, December 29, the action continues on NBC and Peacock with the Dallas Mavericks heading west to face the Trail Blazers live from Portland. Both teams are still trying to get their roster chemistry sorted out, but the right performance on national television can be a turning point for any team, so don’t miss the West Coast action to see if, among other things, Mavs standout rookie Cooper Flagg can put on yet another show.
Tuesday, December 30 brings another doubleheader with a stellar Coast 2 Coast Tuesday lineup. It all starts at 8 p.m. ET with another cross-conference battle as the Philadelphia 76ers tip off against the Grizzlies live from Memphis. It’s been a decent years for Philly so far, while the Grizzlies have struggled, but we’ll see if they can defend their home court against some tough Eastern Conference visitors.
And finally, at 10:30 p.m. ET, we’ll go live to Los Angeles, where the Detroit Pistons are in town to take on the Lakers. The Pistons have a claim right now to being one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, but the Lakers aren’t too shabby either, and LeBron James‘ squad definitely knows how to put on a show in front of a national audience.
